We’re Improving Weight & Wellbeing Across the UK
Real Results: Our new audit data highlights significant weight loss and wellbeing improvements for participants of the X-PERT Weight & Wellbeing Programme.
A growing number of people in the UK face challenges managing their weight and overall health, increasing their risk of long-term conditions and negatively affecting their quality of life. To address this, education programmes play a critical role in empowering individuals with the knowledge and confidence to take control of their health.
X-PERT Health, a registered charity, has already supported over 500,000 people through its evidence-based programmes. The X-PERT Weight & Wellbeing Programme builds on the success of the X-PERT Diabetes Programme, demonstrating proven results through clinical trials and real-world implementation.
The 2024 audit results confirm the programme’s impact:
Weight Loss: Participants reduced body weight by an average of 4.2kg at 3 months, 5.4kg at 6 months, and 6.3kg at 12 months.
Waist Circumference: Average reductions of 6.7cm at 3 and 6 months, increasing to 8.0cm at 12 months.
Sustainable Change: Over 60% of participants achieved more than 5% weight loss by 12 months.
Improved Eating Behaviours: Scores improved by 35.2%, aiding long-term lifestyle changes.
This year’s audit also honours top-performing organisations and educators with the X-PERT Weight & Wellbeing Awards. Highlights include:
Organisation of the Year: Stoke-on-Trent City Council achieved the highest participation, completion rates, and significant weight and waist circumference reductions.
Best Educator Award: Joint winners Lizzy Gray and Sushma Garg (Arc PCN) were commended for their dedication and exceptional delivery of the programme.
