I liked it so much I have already ordered another two copies for friends, and I am seriously considering a stockpile for everyone who asks me about my weight loss! I wish I had got this book six months ago - It would have saved me about two months of research and getting past myths and hype. It is both easy to follow and still manages to put enough science/technical stuff in so that a GP or dietician will take it seriously. I am recommending it to every diabetic and person who needs to lose weight that I know. I am LADA (now properly controlled!) and successful in losing 5stone in weight - all following the principles in this book.

I've been on this diet for 7 years with only positive results. It restored my health when I was crippled with neuropathy. Now I am fir well, without any diabetes complications. I was diagnosed as Type 2 Diabetes in March 2015, I searched for information online and found the DCUK forum and noticed a lot of people singing the praises of the LCHF Diet, Dr Trudi Deakin was THE most inspiring person, so I ordered the Eat Fat book and read it from cover to cover and quickly adapted my own lifestyle to the LCHF way. I sleep better, I have more energy. My skin and hair and nails are improved. I no longer have energy slumps or need to sleep in the afternoon, after work. I never get ill, I haven't had a cold or illness in almost two years. People tell me that I don't look my age (people are shocked to hear that I'm a grandma of two). I no longer suffer from bloating or IBS. I used to have swollen fingers and legs in the morning but that has now completely gone. I also have less menopausal symptoms. I no longer have severe sugar cravings or blackouts which I used to suffer from often, caused by low blood sugar from eating a high sugar/high carb breakfast. This way of eating has changed my life and I am starting to lose weight and feel more confident as a result of it. I've lost 21 pounds so far and I have another 42 pounds to lose. We eat low carb high fat in our house because I'm type 1 and my partner is type 2. I chose to eat like this but my partner took a bit of persuading. Your book convinced him along with the fact that I lost a couple of stone and I keep my blood sugars almost flat. The times it goes up now is normally due to stress. I have stepped over the diabetes roller coaster. I do mistakes but they are smaller and best of all 'safe' because of the reduction in insulin. Chicken with cheese wrapped in bacon with garlic courgette spaghetti is a favourite!
