Quality in Care (QiC) Programme Awards The winner of the category "NHS Team of the Year working in diabetes" was Lakeside Diabetes Team led by NHS South East London, Bexley Business Support Unit.. This team, based in one of Bexley's most deprived communities, has been providing high-quality, innovative, patient-centred services from the practice and achieved impressive results. They have booked well over 1,000 people on to X-PERT courses in 2011 and have achieved the best improvement in their blood glucose control in the country. World Diabetes Congress, Dubai 4th - 8th December Trudi was invited to make two presentations at this prestigious event. She spoke to over 1000 delegates on How do you take a diet history and give nutrition advice when you don't have a dietician?. Her second presentation under the banner of Innovative approaches to the delivery of diabetes education, was entitled X-PERT Diabetes Self-Management Education Improves Health, Well-being and Cuts Costs. There was huge interest in our exhibition stand, keeping Trudi and Sallie very busy and on their feet for 4 days! |
